FoLT Easter Colouring Competition

Congratulations to our 16 winners for their Eggstraordinary entries. The Art Ambassadors had the arduous task of choosing just one winner per class. Each of the winners received an Easter Egg supplied by FoLT to enjoy over the Easter break.
Thank you to everyone who entered and as always for the donations to Friends of Lime Tree who continue to give their time to enrich our children’s time here at Lime Tree.

Readathon 2024

Thank you so much for encouraging your children to join our readathon.

It has been wonderful to see our children immerse themselves in a myriad of stories and adventures over the past two weeks.

The winners of our readathon have collectively amassed an impressive 89 hours of reading time, which we believe is truly remarkable.

Our main goal is as always to promote reading and encourage our children to develop a love of reading, and we believe this readathon, with your help, has helped do that.

We thank you for all the donations that you have made during the readathon.

You have raised a staggering £870.00 which is invaluable to us, and it will go towards filling our library areas with more books for the children to enjoy.

FoLT & Tesco Stronger Starts

In October 2023 Friends of Lime Tree amazingly secured a voting box in Tesco stores across Sale and the local area as part of their Tesco Stronger Starts initiative. Blue voting tokens were accepted until January of 2024.

FoLT applied for the opportunity to be considered to have a voting presence in the store and were asking for funds to purchase outdoor play equipment for EYFS, including new bikes and trikes.

We are delighted to announce that votes are in and Lime Tree Primary Academy came first in the store vote and were awarded the top grant of £1500!!

Early Years couldn’t be happier with their new equipment…

Thank you to Friends of Lime Tree!

What Parents & Carers Need To Know About Group Chats

Occurring through messaging apps, on social media, and in online games, group chats are among the most popular ways that young people engage with their peers online. Involving, by definition, three or more individuals, these groups allow users to send messages, images and videos to everyone in one place. While they are useful for helping friends, people with shared interests or members of a club to communicate and coordinate activities, they can also leave young people feeling excluded and bullied – as well as providing opportunities for inappropriate content to be shared and viewed. In the below guide, you’ll find tips on a number of potential risks such as bullying, inappropriate content and unknown members.

The Masked Reader

To mark World Book Day we participated in various activities. Among them, children enjoyed trying to guess the identities of staff in Lime Tree’s Masked Reader event. We’ve included the videos below for you to enjoy at home so that you can join in the fun of guessing who’s hiding behind the mask!

Neurodiversity Umbrella Project

Lime Tree joined The Neurodiversity Umbrella Project, which is an uplifting visual representation of all the different minds we have in the UK. We have proudly set up our rainbow-tastic display in The Avenue and it represents the one in five of us who have a neurodevelopmental condition, such as ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia or Tourette’s syndrome. These conditions fall under the umbrella term of neurodiversity. We are changing the perception of neurodiverse/neurodivergent people and celebrating all the many strengths that come from thinking differently. As well as looking amazing, the umbrellas have encouraged lots of conversations about neurodiversity and our ‘No Outsiders’ Ethos, as well as being the focus of a very informative whole school assembly lead by our very own SENCO, Mrs Lloyd! There was lots of discussion about differences, and we had some fantastic feedback from the children and adults who attended the assembly.

Perfect Pets 2023

AfterSchoolClub.net held an art competition asking children across the UK to draw a picture of their “Perfect Pet” from much loved family pets to wacky, mixed-up animals.

They received thousands of entries from afterschool clubs, holiday schemes, school art clubs, and more!

Tree House children created some wonderfully weird and crazy creatures, 10 of which were published in a book that parents had the opportunity to purchase so they could see their child’s artwork in print.

GOLD Artsmark

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the GOLD Artsmark.

We are very proud to have achieved this prestigious award which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing a varied and engaging range of learning opportunities within the arts for children who attend our school

Feedback from the Arts Council England –

‘There is a firm commitment to promoting Visual Art at Lime Tree Primary Academy, and to increasing children in KS2’s cultural capital through working alongside a professional local artist. On your first Artsmark journey under the new framework, you have carefully reviewed and adapted your art curriculum so that it is clearly sequenced to ensure progression in knowledge and skills, with the effect that teachers are clear about children’s prior learning, as well as their next steps. Children have enjoyed opportunities to showcase their artwork to senior leaders and peers in class galleries, inspiring teachers to work collaboratively.

Music Mark School 23/24

We are delighted to inform you that in the Autumn term, Lime Tree Primary Academy was nominated once again to become a Music Mark School for 2023/2024! This nomination came from Trafford Music Service and recognises our strong partnership with their provision. Music Mark schools are leading examples of staff and pupils wholly committed to quality teaching and learning of music. We are extremely proud of the efforts our school community puts into providing our children an enriching music education.

This academic year alone, we have received music and singing tuition from familiar face Matt Roughley for Nursery to Year 6, our choir participated in a Winter Concert with Sale Youth Choir in our hall, Key Stage Two performed at Carols In The Cold, several talented musicians from Key Stage Two also performed at our instrument concert, Year 4 enjoyed whole class Samba tuition ending with a live performance to their grown-ups, Year 2 and EYFS delivered amazing Nativity shows and Year 1 performed to residents of Bramhall Close; all of which were over and above our regular music lessons and assemblies.
